Gayle Prabhakaran

Speech Language Pathologist

Gayle is the owner of Therapy Station that was founded in 2002. She is a board-certified Speech Therapist who started her career in 1993 and has been working in pediatrics for the last 18 years. She received her Master’s degree in Communication Disorders from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. Gayle values personal connection and works hard to help her little ones achieve their goals through fun and creative activities. When she is not at work, Gayle is busy raising three teenage sons and taking care of her two dogs (Mako and Puppy}, a bearded dragon (Chubs), and a tortoise (Tortellini). In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her friends and watching movies.

Karen Cabage

Office Manager and Billing

Karen is a native Floridian who graduated from Florida State University. She has been with Therapy Station for 16 years and is responsible for the day to day operations and clerical management of the office including billing authorization and credentialing. Her role also includes providing staff support and she is here to answer any questions! Karen has a son who is profoundly deaf and understands both the challenges that come with raising a child with a disability and the importance of early intervention and therapies. She enjoys her family, grand kitties, and long walks in the park or beach and is here to help!

Candice Martonik

Speech Language Pathologist

Candice is originally from Pennsylvania but moved to Florida four years ago. She graduated from East Stroudsburg University in 2016 with her masters in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She also holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Before moving to Florida, she worked in two different school districts, servicing students from kindergarten through high school. After moving to Florida, she began to work at two elementary schools in Pinellas County, servicing students from preschool to fifth grade, and this year has also started to service students in a clinical setting at Therapy Station. Candice is familiar with the aspects of screening, evaluating, and treating clients across age ranges and disorder types including clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Articulation Disorder, Expressive and Receptive Language Delays, and Fluency Disorder. Her passion is to help each one of her client’s master their goals and achieve their full potential by providing individualized therapy and instruction specific to each client’s needs. In her free time, Candice enjoys spending time with her husband and their two cats, as well as horseback riding and going to the beach.

Gladys Duarte

Speech Assistant / ITDS

Gladys received her Bachelors Degree in Communication Disturbance and Speech Pathology from the Female University of Sacred Heart, in Lima Peru. She began her career working with a large private practice serving children with Cerebral Palsy,  Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as a variety of other communication disorders to help them meet their communication potential, maximize their growth and promote carry over across all areas.Gladys SLPA – ITDS is a bilingual Florida State Licensed professional. Gladys has been a part of Therapy Station’s team and the Early Steps Program for over 10 years.  Gladys enjoys spending time with family, friends, traveling and visiting her family in her country.

Pisamai Boonyathitsuk

Speech Language Pathologist / ITDS

Pom moved to New York City (NYC) from Thailand in 2002, with a 19-year career as a Speech—Language Pathologist. In NYC she worked for 12 years as a pediatric bilingual (Thai-English) Speech-Language Pathologist and Early Interventionist in an Early Intervention Program. Pom was also as a Speech-Language Supervisor for Clinical Fellowship Year Trainees (2008-2010) while employed by Bilinguals Inc., NYC. She moved to Florida in 2014, where she continues to work with children and their families. Pom specializes in addressing the communication needs of children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This includes teaching and helping families reach their children’s communication potential. Pom loves working as a Speech-Language Pathologist, She also enjoys traveling, meditation, Yoga and gardening.

Jill Hardy

Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)

Jill is a board certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. She graduated from Keiser University in Tampa in 2012. Jill enjoys working with children and helping them reach their full potential. She is married and has a daughter and a dog. In her spare time she enjoys watching the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tampa Bay Lightning play. She also enjoys working out at the gym and stand up paddle boarding at the beach with her family.

Ashley Wermers

Occupational Therapist

Ashley  is a native of South  Dakota but has called Florida home for the last 4 years.  She has earned her Doctorate of Occupational Therapy  in 2020 and is ready to take on new caseloads. Ashley  knew from a young age that she wanted  to work with children.  She is passionate  about creating  a supportive environment for each client to strive in and reach  their greatest potential to meet their individual goals.  Ashley enjoys spending time with  family and friends,  going to the beach,  and relaxing  outdoors.

Melissa Rosenberg

Physical Therapist

Melissa is a local, born and raised in Tampa, Florida. She graduated from the University of Florida with a Masters in Physical Therapy. She has been working with the pediatric population for over 20 years and truly loves it! Melissa enjoys helping children overcome all obstacles- no matter how big or small. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and watching and playing sports when she has free time. She believes it is important to challenge your limits and to not be limited by your challenges.

Maria M. Cruz

Early Interventionist / ITDS

Maria is originally from Puerto Rico but moved to Tampa around 4 years ago. She graduated from Carlos Albizu University in Puerto Rico. She specializes a an ITDS with Therapy Station and has worked as a Bilingual Speech Therapist Assistant since 2015. Maria has experience working in a variety of settings including home, daycare, schools, and clinics. She has provided therapy for children with various language, pragmatic, articulation and autism spectrum disorders. Maria’s special training include: 2005-Certification in Practical Application of Oromotor Exercises of OPPHLA, 2006-Certification in Feeding Therapy, 2009-Autism Disorder Training for Fillius Institute from UPR. She is an animal lover and especially loves dogs! Today, Maria’s passion is working with her children to help them reach their speech language goals and develop positive knowledge and skills.

Andrea V. Huarcaya

Early Interventionist / ITDS

Andrea was born and raised in Lima, Peru. She moved to Florida about ten years ago to pursue a better life and a more accomplish education. She graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s in Psychology in 2019. It brings her joy in life to help children and their families, especially those struggling with mental illnesses. Andrea’s long term goal is to decrease the stigma surrounding mental health, particularly among her Latin American community. When she is not working, Andrea enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and four dogs.

Nadia Newson

Early Interventionist / ITDS

Nadia is a state licensed speech-language pathologist assistant and infant toddler developmental specialist. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Science Disorders from the University of South Florida. Nadia has worked with kids for over 15 years in a private practice setting and with the Early Steps. She has a wide range of experience with ages from birth to teenage years; however her passion is working with toddlers. Her professional experience includes learning delays, receptive and expressive language delays, autism spectrum disorder and sensory processing disorder. Nadia is passionate about helping children reach their full potential and providing families with the tools needed. Nadia loves spending time with her family, crafting and baking.

Devoni Gomez

Early Interventionist / ITDS

Devoni is a certified Infant and Toddler Developmental Specialist with over 15 years of experience working with ages 0-3. Devoni is a Tampa native and got her start in the area of Autism and ABA therapy. After spending a few years working in Los Angeles with the Autism population and getting trained in “floor time” therapy methods she came back to Florida to join the Early Steps program. She loves playing with children and teaching parents how to create learning opportunities throughout all daily routines. Devoni has three daughters of her own and enjoys encouraging healthy development throughout all ages.
